United States Creative Business Cup Competition Announces Winner

IndianRaga, based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts was named the winner of the US Creative Business cup and has advance to the global finalsCreative Oklahoma, along with the National Creativity Network, announced today that the United States Creative Business Cup winner has been selected. The winning entry goes to IndianRaga, based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Creative Business Cup is a national and international competition for new and established entrepreneurs from creative industries around the world.

Entrepreneurs were asked to submit a business plan in order to compete to become the winning entry for the United States. The winner will now go on to compete against other countries at the final during Global Entrepreneurship Week in Copenhagen, Denmark November 12th-14th.

IndianRaga is a digital media start-up venture devoted to democratizing Indian music through technology. With its new technological tools, IndianRaga identifies the most promising musical talent and helps them identify pockets of demand for their music in India and abroad. An analytics-based approach to ticket-pricing, audience size, choice of music, and other performance-related factors further supports their efforts. IndianRaga recently won the coveted 2012 MIT IDEAS Global Challenge Community Choice Award.

Creative Oklahoma was selected as the National Host Organization for the United States competition and will send Emani of IndianRaga to Copenhagen to represent. “It was an honor to be selected as the official host of the Creative Business Cup and to provide entrepreneurs in the United States this opportunity to compete globally,” said Susan McCalmont, President of Creative Oklahoma. “The jury was presented with excellent submissions from around the country, but IndianRaga stood out amongst other entries. We believe they will go far in this competition.”

IndianRaga will also be recognized during the newly named State of Creativity Forum on Tuesday, November 13 at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
