Global Entrepreneurship Week Catalyzes Startup Communities Worldwide, New Kauffman Sketchbook Video Illustrates

Oct 17, 2012

35,000 events in 127 countries during one week in November inspire people to be a force for change

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Oct. 17, 2012 – Global Entrepreneurship Week is an idea bigger than the thousands of communities around the world that make it up. That idea and the benefits of engaging a global community working to advance entrepreneurship are the subject of the latest Kauffman Foundation animated sketchbook video released today.

“The world needs more entrepreneurs,” says Global Entrepreneurship Week President and Kauffman Senior Fellow Jonathan Ortmans, who narrates the video. “GEW offers the opportunity to network, meet mentors, experience a boot camp, find out if you have an interest in being an entrepreneur or working for a startup and learn from other countries. All in one week.”

Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012, the fifth anniversary of the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship, will be held Nov. 12–18 to encourage existing and aspiring entrepreneurs to unleash innovative ideas, using the marketplace to improve lives and make their mark.

The video illustrates the myriad experiences available to participants and the cultural implications of thousands of people around the world focusing on solving world challenges.
