5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The New Venture Challenge is a new business plan competition that is open to any resident of Douglas, Chelan and Okanogan Counties as well as the Colville Confederated Tribe interested in starting a business. Existing business owners are eligible as long as the business is less than three years old. Prizes to be awarded during the New Venture Challenge are valued at over $21,000. The competition challenges participants to develop business ideas into legitimate ventures and to execute well-developed business plans. Ideas are not limited to any particular industry but there are three categories of competition: Retail, Professional/Technical, and Student. Participants must select one category to pursue, and will be required to develop and submit a complete business plan for scoring. In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, winners will be announced during an awards presentation on November 13, 2012 at the Wenatchee Valley Mall. The New Venture Challenge is a partnership between the North Central Washington Economic Development District, Wenatchee Valley College, the Wenatchee Valley Mall, and the Wenatchee Downtown Association
