Peace Child International, Global Kids, TakingITGlobal and the EU delegation to the United Nations present MOBILIZING YOUTH FOR A SUCCESSFUL RIO+20 WHAT HAS BEEN DONE? WHAT’S NEXT? “Young people can and must play a central role in bringing dynamic new ideas, fresh thinking and energy to the Rio +20 process”, remarked SG Ban Ki-moon at the opening of the High Level Meeting on Youth in July 2011. The event will be showcasing those ideas, thoughts and energy by reporting on the status of the mobilization; it will also encourage a genuine dialogue with UN stakeholders on what the role of young people could be, in the lead up to next year’s summit. Presentations by youth leaders from around the world will include outcomes of regional youth preparatory meetings on Rio+20, PCI’s global Green Economy Eco-Business Innovation Challenge (GEEBIZ) showcase and other initiatives, followed by an interactive debate.
