Organizer: Northwood University Forum for Citizenship and Enterprise lecture series
At 6 p.m. as part of Northwood University’s Forum for Citizenship and Enterprise lecture series, Weinzweig will address the topic “The 12 Natural Laws of Business—Responding to the Other ‘Energy Crisis’” explaining how Open Book Management is practiced at Zingerman’s and how it contributes to our society as a whole and makes it better. The lecture will take place in Griswold Lecture Hall on Northwood’s Midland campus (the community is reminded that the Whiting Road entrance to the campus is closed at Cook Road—visitors should use the Saginaw Road entrance). There is no admission charge and members of the community are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served afterward. “This is an excellent opportunity, both for Northwood and those living in the Great Lakes Bay region, to learn how and why Open Book Management is forever changing the way we run our businesses,” explained Georgia Abbott, director of the Alden B. Dow Center for Creativity & Enterprise at Northwood University. “Weinzweig’s story is remarkable not only for the bottom-line profits it generates but also even more because of the personal transformation it brings out in those who embrace and practice it,” she continued.
