The Initiative for Rural Innovation & Stewardship (IRIS) is teaming up with the City of Entiat, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, The Wenatchee World, NW Public Radio and others to convene Entiat Rocks, the fourth annual North Central Washington Community Success Summit. The summit is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 15, 2012 at Entiat High School, Entiat. Community leaders plan to showcase examples of how innovative stewardship practices are building community and lasting success across our region. Citizens are invited to bring their energy, ideas and success stories to share with others. Visit the IRIS website irisncw.org to view the agenda and to obtain registration information. This year's Summit is also part of a statewide celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation Governor Gregoire is leading in Washington to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week. The Entiat High School Leadership Team, Entiat City, and the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest will showcase community, environmental and economic successes within the community of Entiat. Additional presentations by the Yakama Nation and WorkSource will spotlight strategies for connecting water, food and jobs and creating success across the region. Additionally, a presentation of the video recently released by Cascadia Conservation District, "Pulling Together – From Conflict to Conservation in the Entiat Valley," will be followed by roundtable discussions about how citizens are adapting to change and creating new ways of doing things that work in today's environment.
