This two-part workshop is ideal for existing food producers, those interested in developing a food product including small farmers, homemakers, and those who have always wanted to work for themselves in a food-related business. First, we’ll cover the basics: FDA regulations, labeling, and food safety; planning your business and pricing for profits; working with retail buyers and distributors; and building a brand and moving your customers to buy. Next, we’ll go beyond the basics and hear from some of our region’s most successful “foodpreneurs.” The founders of The Roasterie, Boulevard Brewery, and Shatto Milk will share their wisdom and startup experiences.
