12 pm - 1:30 pm Hosted by: Center for Research Innovation. This panel will pull together different perspectives of those on campus involved with innovation centered on healthcare. This is a particularly exciting topic as the Affordable Care Act has provided many opportunities for researchers to receive federal funding to create new technology surrounding cost containment and medical effectiveness and efficiency. Panelists include: -a Professor in Healthcare Engineering who can discuss the broader movement and vision of health-related initiatives and grant opportunities born out of the movement. -a researcher/inventor on campus who is doing work related to the furtherance of healthcare and fulfilling the mission of movement. -a patent attorney who will speak upon trends he is seeing the filing of patents related to healthcare. -an administrator who is involved in promoting research on campus who will speak on grant opportunities for those on campus. These perspectives combined will likely inspire student entrepreneurs who are interested in health, business and intellectual property to participate in a movement likely only to get bigger as healthcare continuously developing in the United States.
