Entrepreneurial Family Members Share

On Thursday, November 15th family members of DECA students who are entrepreneurs are going to speak to the RHS students at unit lunch in the little theater to those interested in learning about the risks, successes, and failures as entrepreneurs. Currently we have the Tapia family and the Callaghan family coming to speak about their respective businesses.

Entrepreneurship Competition

On Wednesday, November 14th the DECA chapter will host an entrepreneurship IDEA challenge. The students will be given the mystery item at the beginning of unit lunch. By the end of unit lunch they must have their new idea/use for the product to be submitted in writing to the judges. The first and second place ideas will be awarded prizes.

Chamber of Commerce Presentation

A representative of the Chamber of Commerce will come in and present to the students of RHS at lunch time in the little theather. They will speak to the students about the opportunity to be an entrepreneur in the town of Ridgewood. They will also identify how they can help potential entrepreneurs reach their target audience in the Ridgewood community.

Morning Announcements

Starting on Monday a statement or quote about Entrepreneurship will be read over the morning announcements. Each quote or statement will educate the student body about what it takes to become an entrepreneur and the opportunities available to them locally.

Logos on Lockers

Starting on Monday, November 12th the 60 students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship classes and the 25 DECA officers will display the Global Entrpreneurship Week logos on their lockers. Since their lockers are spread out across the school it will create awareness across the school.

EPP Project Activity

The students working on our EPP chapter event will be working on meeting with local entrepreneurs and filming. Given the recent weather events on the East coast this will add additional questions that we can ask the entrepreneurs about risks, insurance, and rebuilding. The final video will be put together for the Chamber of Commerce for our EPP project by early February.
