NAHCC Joins Tennessee Partners to Lead Effort to Help Tennessee Become No. 1 State for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced today it will participate in Global Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 12 – 18, by hosting two programs “Access to Capital - A Workshop for Hispanic Entrepreneurs" and "What You Need To Know About Your Finances: 7 Deadly Sins That Kill Small Business" as part of its financial literacy series for the Hispanic entrepreneur in partnership with the SBA-Tennessee District Office, chamber members and local partners. To date, Tennessee has confirmed more than multiple events for Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 12 – 18, which celebrates the vital role entrepreneurs play in innovation, job creation and economic recovery. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a global initiative to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity in local communities across the globe. Nationally, Tennessee outranks all other states in planned events for the week, including California and Michigan, proving that the spirit of entrepreneurship is booming in the Volunteer State. "We are very excited about our participation in GEW this year and for the opportunity to engage a substantial number of Hispanic entrepreneurs in our area that are so vital to our local economy. A survey our organization conducted in partnership with Tennessee State University shows the number of Hispanic own businesses in our area to amount to over 1,800 and growing. A sometimes isolated Hispanic business community, key to our future economic prosperity will benefit greatly from the outstanding Global Entrepreneurship Week programs offered by our partners in Tennessee. Global Entrepreneurship Week encourages young people in 87 countries around the world to learn more about entrepreneurship and the opportunities available to entrepreneurs through local, national and global activities. Green Builds Business

Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation will bring "Green Builds Business" to Nashville - November 15 and 16, 2011 Music City is one of 11 cities selected to offer education on environmental sustainability to Hispanic entrepreneurs The Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation is proud to announce its upcoming Green Builds Business program in Nashville, Tennessee. 'Green Builds Business' is a national initiative, launched earlier this year through a $500,000 grant from Walmart, designed to educate Hispanic business entrepreneurs on environmental sustainability and guide them on how to formulate and implement green business plans that hold the potential of creating jobs, growing profits and reducing emissions this year. 20 Hispanic owned businesses will be selected by the USHCC Foundation from the Nashville and surrounding areas to participate in the two-day workshop scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2011, at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, a Tennessee Green Hospitality program eco-friendly certified property. The Green Builds Business Program is a full day of coaching on best practices adopted by companies like Walmart in an effort to lower operating cost, increase revenues, and motivate workers while enhancing the health of people and the planet, led by Bill Roth, Founder of Earth 2017. Bill’s leadership roles have included serving as Senior Vice President Energy Services for PG&E, COO of Texaco Ovonics Hydrogen Solutions and President of Cleantech America. Milestone projects developed under Bill’s leadership include the launch of the first hydrogen fueled Prius, development of solar power plants and the launch of the first web-based, meter-linked energy information system that enables energy conservation and reduced costs by harvesting load shifting through Real Time Pricing. Participants will learn best practices for: - Pricing, marketing and branding that grow green revenues - Reducing environmental footprint and operating costs - Motivating work associates with opportunities that help the company and the planet At least one business will be selected to receive up to 24 hours of one-on-one green coaching (a $6,000 value) to formulate a green business plan or implement a green project that holds the potential of creating jobs, growing profits and reducing emissions this year.
