LAUNCH is hosting the first annual Entrepreneurship Competition at Howard High School on March 11, 2012. Preparations have already begun by facilitating Springboard (a 9-week business planning course) with students at Howard High School. Students will work in groups, with each student group mentored by a business or entrepreneurship major from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). Mentors and students will work together through the end of the first semester on idea viability and business plans. Students will be graded on their business plans, which are due before end of the first semester. Beginning second semester, mentors and students will focus on presentation of the business plan. On March 11, 2012, students will present their business plans to partners with the Chattanooga Renaissance Fund (a for-profit angel capital fund started and funded by local business leaders), competing for a $2,000 prize to invest in the business of the winning team. On Tuesday, November 15, join us for an INSIDE LOOK- a unique open-house opportunity to observe the Springboard class, in progress at Howard High School. Refreshments will be served.
