METRO-WIDE ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPO

Kansas City , Kansas

16 November 2011-17 November 2011

Entrepreneurs—and those thinking about ways to make money by starting a business—are invited to attend the Entrepreneurial Expo on Wed., Nov. 16, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The event is hosted by the Kansas City Small and Home Business Connection (KCSHBC.org), and sponsored by the Kansas State University Research & Extension Office of Johnson County, and is being held at 111 S Cherry, Johnson County Administration Building in downtown, Olathe, KS 66061. There is no charge to attend the Expo. The Small and Home Business Connection is a not-for-profit organization that promotes professional growth for entrepreneurs through support, networking, and education since 1992. The organization’s Entrepreneurial Expo is the premier event of Kansas City’s Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), Nov. 14-22, 2011, sponsored by the Kauffman Foundation & Enterprise UK. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide initiative linking business people everywhere who are willing to embrace entrepreneurship through human innovation and have over 100 countries, 40,000 events & 10 million people participating in 2011. “The Small & Home Business Expo provides a wonderful opportunity for small business owners, and those considering self-employment to learn about many aspects of business ownership to help them get off the ground or grow an existing business. They can meet other entrepreneurs and learn from local successful leaders in our industry,” says Beth Bernier, Bernier Accounting and the 2011 Co-Chair for this year’s Expo. “We have a day planned with free educational workshops, a high school scholarship contest, a referral networking event to create leads for those participating and many small businesses will display their products and services alongside free local resource agencies for entrepreneurs. It will be the ideal place to meet and network with small business owners, to get free continuing education, to find businesses with solutions to many problems business owners face, and to find local resource agencies that support entrepreneurs all year long.” Bernier says about 1,200 people are expected to attend the Expo this year since this is the 5th year the Small & Home Business Connection has put this event on.
