Creativity Workshop

Creativity Workshop for local business people,and Chamber Members that is intended to get the creative juices flowing. Local artist,Jackie Haltom, will lead the artistic activity as a way of getting people out of their comfort zones. A short debrief will follow that discusses what participants learned and what they would carry forward into their jobs/businesses, etc.

Entrepreneurs Showcase at the Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame

Reception at the new Kansas Celebrity Hall of Fame in Independence, Kansas. The Celebrity Hall of Fame recognizes achievements from local residents such as Jim Halsey (music producer) and William Inge (famous playwright) and has on display memorabilia from their collections. The Entrepreneurs Showcase will be an opportunity for those wanting to learn more about starting their own business from other entrepreneurs, network with vendors, and be inspired by those represented at the Celebrity Hall of Fame. The event will be from 4:30-6 p.m.

Career Day at Independence Community College

There will be a booth at the event that showcases Entrepreneurship and there will be a couple of local entrepreneurs available to interact with students. Event will be attended by local schools from grade 3rd-12th.

Field Trip to Kansas Aviation

Independence, Kansas

Kansas Aviation will host a Character First Discussion session with the ICC Entrepreneur Mindset Class. The Entrepreneur Mindset participants will share some key videos and ideas that they have learned through the Icehouse class. Kansas Aviation will also host a tour of the Plant.
