Film Screening: Fault-Line Film Festival Invitational

The Fault-Line Film Festival tests artists’ imagination, vision and teamwork as they develop short films to compete for cash prizes and prizes. For the first time, in 2011 regional colleges and universities are invited to participate in the intercollegiate competition, the Fault-Line Invitational. The winning entries will be screened in the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Meet adventure photographer and owner of Savannah Images Billy Dodson and learn about his journey as a naval officer, artist and entrepreneur. Billy Dodson first became interested in photography while on a mountain climbing trip to Tanzania in 2001. His work has been published in Outdoor Photographer, Nature’s Best Photography, Asian Photography and Virginia Wildlife magazines, and in posters and calendars around the world.
Fault- Line Film Festival Awards

The Fault-Line Film Festival will showcase student’s imagination, creativity and teamwork. Winning films in the competition will be screened and $4,000 in prizes awarded. Special guest, Steven Poster, will speak to the students. Poster has worked on such films as Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Donnie Darko as a cinematographer. He is president of the International Cinematographers Guild.

A panel of entrepreneurs will share their stories of the triumphs and challenges on the path to success. Glenn Campbell, LIDS Campbell started his business in 1995 with one hat shop in an Indiana mall before growing to 157 stores in five years. In 2001,the company acquired its largest competitor, LIDS, and grew to more than 400 stores. Chris Buehrle, NARS Beuhrle founded NARS in 1993 and is widely regarded as a visionary in the area of call center operations. Under Buehrle’s guidance, the company methodically entered into many new areas of call center servicing. Today, more than 3,500 employees work at NARS call centers in Missouri, the Caribbean and Central America.

Taulbert Clifton Taulbert is a Pulitzer Prize nominee and author of the recently released Who Owns the Ice House?, the critically acclaimed book that served as the basis for a youth entrepreneurship program developed by the Kauffman Foundation. Who Owns the Ice House? is based on Taulbert’s own life experience and chronicles his journey from life in the Mississippi Delta at the height of legal segregation to being recognized by TIME magazine as “one of our nation’s most outstanding emerging entrepreneurs.”
BIG Idea Competition Finalist Elevator Pitch
