Entrepreneur Connection

Wichita, Kansas

18 November 2011-19 November 2011

Entrepreneur Connection is inviting small groups of students interested in entrepreneurship to go to breakfast with a local entrepreneur. This is a valuable opportunity for students to learn of the successes and failures that come with being an entrepreneur. EC allows students to establish a connection with professionals as well as expand their professional network. Entrepreneurs are asked to share experiences, insight, wisdom and guidance to the next generation of emerging entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs embody successful role models for students by offering guidance in careers, all while focusing on the developmental and attitudinal needs for a successful career. They are leaders with entrepreneurial business experience that are or have been business owners or top level executives. The Center for Entrepreneurship invites entrepreneurs to participate and contribute their time and experience to helping the next generation of entrepreneurs learn and grow.

Professor for a Day

Wichita, Kansas

14 November 2011-21 November 2011

PROFESSOR FOR A DAY 2011 As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, November 14 – 20, 2011, the Center for Entrepreneurship and the W. Frank Barton School of Business, Wichita State University will be hosting, for the third time, Professor for a Day. It is the school’s mission to bring together classroom teachings to the realities of the business world. To help the Barton school foster the growth of the program, each instructor is asked to invite a guest speaker, aka, a “Professor for the Day,” for each class taught. These “professors” are to be local professionals who are open to discuss their personal experiences of navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and/or small business ownership. “Professors” will focus on a particular contemporary business topic relevant to each class which is determined by both the regular instructor and the “Professor for the Day”. This program allows students and community leaders to collaborate and foster a new kind of learning experience for both the students and the “professors.” If you need help finding a “Professor for the Day” please contact Danielle Hayes at 978-5162 or so the committee can assist you. After selecting a “professor” for your classes please send their name, company, and email to Thank you gifts for each “professor” will be available for pick up in the Dean’s Office or at the Center for Entrepreneurship.
