Our DECA students are taking an educational field trip to a local business started by an entrepreneur. During that time the business will present to the students the pros and cons of owning your own business.
Entrepreneur Display Case

Our student leaders will be updating our DECA display case to highlight Entrepreneurship Week, some of our alumni members and our business partners. This display case is located in the main hallway of our school and is visible to many people as they walk through the halls.
GEW locker posters

The DECA Officer team printed 70 locker posters for our student DECA members. These locker posters will have the Global Entrepreneurship Week logo displayed along with our chapter's DECA logo. On the bottom of the poster it will indicate that we are celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week. These will be taped on all of our student DECA members lockers so that when they arrive to school that Monday they will see them.
Pearl Scarbrough- Mens Warehouse Speaker

On Monday, November 12th at Capital High School, Pearl Scarbrough, the Manager of Men's Warehouse came and talked to our DECA students about how to be appropriate and successful during a business occasion. Pearl shared her experiences related to entrepreneurship, skills students need to apply for jobs and how to dress for success.

The DECA Officer team hid paper dollars with the Global Entrepreneurship Week logos all around the school. These dollars have facts/characteristics on them about DECA and Entrepreneurship in addition to a question. Students had to bring them to the DECA adviser and answer the question to receive the prize. The dollars will have a $1 coupon on them to our student-based enterprise, the Bean Box.

Our student leaders in the DECA program interviewed DECA alumni who run their own bushiness. The information we received was then presented to the classes and posted on the Capital High DECA Facebook page.
Entrepreneurship Promotional Plan

Two of our student leaders are working on promoting entrepreneurship ideas to younger children for their state DECA project. They will be teaching local elementary kids important concepts of entrepreneurship.
Governor Proclamation

Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter has issued a proclamation, stating November 12-18th 2012 will officially be recognized as Global Entrepreneurship Week in Idaho. The proclamation highlights Idaho’s commitment to support, celebrate, educate and initiate entrepreneurship within the state. The proclamation recognizes the importance of entrepreneurship; noting, 58% of new jobs are created by Idaho Start-ups, and 40% by growing Idaho firms.
