THE CSULA BUSINESS PITCH CHALLENGE TO MARK GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK, THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS IS HOSTING A BUSINESS PITCH CHALLENGE OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS IN ALL COLLEGES ON THE CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LOS ANGELES CAMPUS. Students (and teams of students) with a new business idea or start-up business are invited to create a 5 minute video pitch. The idea is to discover and reward ideas that show unique business promise and to highlight the entrepreneurial talent of students across the CSULA campus. All challenge participants will be competing for entry into the prestigious BPC CUP at CSULA, widespread recognition, a cash prize and other awards. The challenge will be open online for upload of videos and other material (registration and email of an executive summary) on October 19 and close at midnight on November 7. Challenge winners will be announced at the CSULA BPC Awards Event on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 5:30 pm in the Golden Eagle Ballroom. Here are the important dates: October 19, 2012 Open for Entries October 24, 2012 Coaching Workshop for Entrants (optional and no cost) in ST 712, 5-5:45 pm November 3, 2012 Coaching Workshop for Entrants (optional and no cost) in ST 712, 2-2:45 pm November 7, 2012 Deadline for Entries (midnight) November 14, 2012 Award Winners Announced The video pitches will be judged by a panel of distinguished entrepreneurs, academics and angel investors. The entrepreneurs and academics are looking for creative business ideas and skilled presentations. Angel investors who watch the pitches are looking for new businesses with significant investment potential. All entrants have an opportunity to participate in the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare across the globe! The CSLA Business Pitch Challenge is all about unleashing ideas. If you have an innovative idea but don’t know if it will work, come to one of the workshops. The coaching available at the workshops will help you refine and test your idea.
