China has a National Entrepreneurs’ Day, but we don’t yet? Seriously?
C’mon people.
According to a new report by the Kauffman Foundation, job growth in the US is driven entirely by startups. The report shows new firms add an average of 3 million jobs in their first year, while older companies lose 1 million jobs annually. Currently, there are 14 million unemployed Americans who should be pretty interested in that statistic.
A little less than a month ago, we asked you to join the call for President Obama to declare a National Entrepreneurs’ Day. Enough of you listened that GEW/USA is now NED’s biggest supporter… but we’re going to need a lot more people to step forward.
We understand that it’s July and you have your whole summer plans laid out — vacationing in the Hamptons or mapping out your second stage strategy for Lollapalooza — but it only takes a minute to lend your voice (and Tweets) to the cause in declaring Friday, November 19 as National Entrepreneurs’ Day.
