This year, partners in Alaska have been more active then ever before in celebrating GEW with student entrepreneurs within the state.
Returning GEW/USA partner, University of Alaska Southeast of Juneau, held Alaskapreneurs 2012; an opportunity for students to hear Ian Grant, Southeast Alaska SBDC Director and other UAS entrepreneur faculty share their share experiences and expertise. They also held a UAS Brown Bag Luncheon for students to inspire and encourage them to follow their entrepreneurship ideas.
The University of Alaska Center for Economic Development helped bring GEW to students in Anchorage with a number of events. They also held a Brown Bag Luncheon, in addition to a panel series. The Entrepreneurial Edge Series Presentation on Patenting, Licensing, & Intellectual Property with Dr. Wisniewski is the first of UAA’s Entrepreneurial Edge Speaker Series that is held in conjunction with GEW. They also introduced students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurism, business planning and managing a business with the Brass Tacks Business Basics event.
