In a recent fact sheet posted on its website, the State Department outlined US government efforts to expand and strengthen entrepreneurship around the world.

Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week: Advancing Entrepreneurship Abroad starts with a quick look at its participation and support for the campaign:

At the start of Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 15-21), President Barack Obama issued a proclamation “calling upon all Americans to recognize the important contributions of entrepreneurs.” Working with departments and agencies across the U.S. Government (USG), other governments, and partners outside government, the USG continues to highlight the importance of entrepreneurship abroad and to support initiatives to foster sustainable, mutually beneficial economic growth. U.S. embassies around the world celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week through various events—from hosting a debate tournament in Kyrgyzstan and sponsoring exhibitions in India to supporting a regional youth entrepreneurship competition in Morocco.

The piece goes on to mention the State Department's Global Entrepreneurship Program and Middle East Partnership Initiative, as well as efforts from USAID, Department of Treasury, Small Business Administration, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and the Export-Import Bank.
