Carl Schramm, the president and CEO of the Kauffman Foundation, says that the most important thing for the government to do for startups is to essentially ignore them and give them the time and space to flourish. In an interview during Global Entrepreneurship Week on the CNBC segment 'The Mighty Middle Market', he called for 'no taxes and no regulations' for 3 - 4 years. Schramm also suggested tuition forgiveness from universities for alumni who start firms and employ more than 25 people.
Definitely food for thought.
