As the Regional Coordinator for Jersey City, New Jersey, Alfa Demmellash and her team have orchestrated an impressive line-up of over fifty events for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010. Alfa, the founder and Executive Director of Rising Tide Capital, issued the following open invitation to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010 in Jersey City:
Happy Sunday!
If you live or work near Jersey City, I am excited to invite you to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) with us starting Monday, November 15 through Sunday, November 21. There will be over 30 seminars, panel discussions, market fairs, networking and fun events brought to you by local non-profits, volunteers, business support organizations, and Rising Tide Capital.
None of these activities would have been possible without our corporate sponsors, whose generosity has enabled us to organize and market such an extensive schedule of events. Please visit www.GEWjc.org to see all the excellent opportunities to connect, learn and grow. While you are on the website, please don't forget to take the Buy Local Pledge - a simple way to show you care about small businesses.
If you live or work near Jersey City, I would particularly like to invite to our special speaker event and friendraiser on November 18th at 7PM, featuring entrepreneur and winner of Oprah's Big Give Stephen Paletta, who will discuss what it means to live a life of "success and significance." Our fantastic volunteers on the Rising Tide Capital Strategic Advisory Board are hosting this event to support our year-round entrepreneurship programs and special initiatives like GEW in Jersey City. The evening will include a silent auction, live performance, art and refreshments curtsey of our sponsors Silverman and Hamilton Square. To RSVP, please email Nicole@RisingTideCapital.org or visit http://RisingTide.CharityHappenings.org
For those of you who live far from us, we encourage you to look out for a GEW event near you. If you can't find one, maybe you can begin to unleash the creativity of your own community by planning GEW celebrations of your own. Each of us needs to act in support of our local small businesses, in order to rebuild our economy.
Yours sincerely,
Alfa
