With more than 100 countries officially participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week, there is a lot happening on every continent (well, except for Antarctica of course... but we're working on it).
Each week we'll highlight a few of the blog posts from the global website to give you a better sense of some of that activity.

  • Your Big Year Finalists to Compete During GEW for Trip Around the World24 competitors from around the globe will compete in a series of Global Entrepreneurship Week events in Liverpool for the grand prize of a free one-year trip around the world to enhance their entrepreneurial experience.
  • South Korea and What GEW Does BestOn a trip to South Korea for the buildup to GEW, Jonathan Ortmans notes that although entrepreneurs there have been successful in growing global conglomerates like Samsung, Hyundai and LG, much work remains to counter negative perceptions and promote a startup culture.
  • Exciting Events Coming Up for GEW/ItalyRome, Florence and Torino play host to a trio of events that are at the heart of Global Entrepreneurship Week / Italy – including a session on the positive power of ‘failure’ featuring LinkedIn founder, Reid Hoffman.
  • GEW/UK to Challenge Stereotypes, Shatter MythsOver half of all young people (16-24) in the UK want to start a business, yet only 1 in 20 actually do – precisely why Enterprise UK is challenging a different myth surrounding entrepreneurship on each day of Global Entrepreneurship Week / UK.
  • Dialogue Café Promoting Cross-Border CollaborationA new café using telepresence technology to spur collaboration and innovation has launched in Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro and Amsterdam, where GEW Hosts are already exploring ways to incorporate the initiative into their campaign.
