Last Friday, Southeast Missouri State dedicated the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. According to a report by local CBS affiliate KFVS-TV:
the center offers several academic and outreach programs including: innovation development and research, entrepreneurship education, training and mentorship and business incubation and development services.
The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship has been an enthusiastic partner of Global Entrepreneurship Week/USA since it began in 2008. Last year, under the guidance of Dr. James Stapleton, the Center held a number of activities during GEW, including the announcement of a scholarship funded by Greene.
An entrepreneur himself, Greene had been involved with the Center and its GEW activities for several years before announcing a "10-year commitment that totals $200,000 to give scholarship support to students interested in entrepreneurship."
