On Friday, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business kicked-off GEW here in DC during their Entrepreneurship Day. Over 100 students participated in the event which included Rocket Pitches from both undergraduate and graduate students, which were two minute and four minute pitches to a panel of judges. The best pitches were voted on and winners received a cash prize totaling $2,500.
In between the pitches entrepreneurs spoke to share their stories including Ann Sarnoff, COO of BBC America and Jonathan Perrelli, Founding Partner of Fortify.vc. The topics ranged from how to plug into the entrepreneurship scene in DC to how to be an entrepreneur in a large company
Following the program students were encouraged to come to the stage and help ring the gong to open GEW. This is the fifth year that Georgetown has participated in GEW.
