CNBC unveiled a new section dedicated to global entrepreneurship on its website today as 123 countries celebrated the official opening of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011.
The section includes a slideshow featuring fifteen members of the GEW 50, some of the most promising startups launched between November 2010 and November 2011.
"The two winners were announced on Nov. 14 as the kickoff event to "Global Entrepreneurship Week." Kavita Shukla, founder of Fenugreen, a company that works to reduce food spoilage during transportation, will be heading to Liverpool, England, in March 2012 to participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress. Jason Ethier, founder of Dynamo Micropower, developed a proprietary ultra-micro turbine architecture; he will receive a year of mentoring from Redbox founding members and serial entrepreneurs Michael DeLazzer and Biju Kulathak."
It also currently has a story on the winners of the Movers & Changers competition, a featured event of Global Entrepreneurship Week held by NYSE Euronext Foundation and mtvU.
"The room erupted in applause, not just for the opening bell to commence trading on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, but for the promise of next generation entrepreneurs."
